Making a Bird Feeder

Bethany, Noah, and Josiah wanted to do bird feeders this year. We decided to make our own. We used:
  • Empty juice bottle
  • Skewer
  • String
First, I started out by marking where I wanted to cut to put on the perch.

Carefully cutting.

Then we slid the skewer through the holes and that made our perch...now we needed to make the handle.

Cutting at the tops and then...

...pulling the string throught and them knotting the ends makes our handle!

The finished products :)

Old Sturbrige Village

First we have farmer Josiah...

...then farmer Noah...

...and then farmer Micah :)

Sheep! I would like to have sheep at JFG, but we can't have any because of where we are located.

In this barn, they had these little pin ball games of problems in the 1800's of growing food (such as rats getting into your corn ect.), and then the modern problems you might run into. Caleb tried the modern day one and his ball kept droping into the hole where his truck broke down :) Caleb said maybe he wasn't meant to be a farmer :)

Then we found some early spring lambs! They were so cute!

Mama sheep.

Then in the play area...

I'm watching you!

The 1800's dinner.

Little boy in camo from head to toe in an 1800's surrounding...very interesting!

House Repair

We had a big wind storm that blew some of the siding off so Dad and Caleb went on up to fix it...
Caleb held it in place as Dad nailed it back...I think caleb was only a little scared :)

Coming down!

See you all next week!

Spring is coming!

It is starting to warm up...and here is proof!
During the snow storm. The snow piles were so high, you could climb up onto the roof with ease. I didn't try it though :)

After a few weeks! We were thankful that the heavy snow did not damage the roof.

Chicken coop art. I'm hoping to order some chicks soon. :)

We will be ordering the seeds for the garden this year soon. The spring air is getting us inspired again :)
For the Itterman family,

Snow Fun!

Hello every one! Greetings from a very snowed-in Jubilee Family Gardens! With nothing yet to do in the garden, we have been enjoying some family fun such as making snow creatures in the snow piles from our driveway. Hope you enjoy the pictures! :)

Snow Creatures!

The hippo! It took a while to do but it was fun!

It was about 4 1/2 feet tall.

The boys really liked it!

Well, the hippo survived another day until I decided to slide down his nose on a sled and the nose broke. So, I made a polar bear!

Micah and his polar bear. Yikes! I think I see another storm coming! Run!

Well, right now we are getting another whopper of a snow storm so you might see some more snow creatures at Jubilee Family Gardens!

Hello Out There!

Hello every one! I wanted to let you know that the folders with all the other farmer market pictures were lost! I will still try to look for them but until then, the JFG blog will be posting other pictures. And sorry about the delay between last post and this one! I hope to stay on top of it a little better than I have been.
